Michael Archer has been promoted to the newly created position of president and chief technology officer of Eos Corp. in Camarillo.

A founder of the company in 1991, Archer has served as executive vice president of engineering and manufacturing. He spearheaded Eos’ development and introduction of power supplies and adapters to the global laptop computer and data networking markets.

As president and technology officer, Archer will oversee Eos’ day-to-day operations and product-development efforts. He will report to Frank Perna, Eos chairman and chief executive.

“Eos is growing at a rapid pace largely due to the technological innovation and leadership of Michael Archer,” Perna said. “As president, he will provide us the vision and management skill needed to achieve our goal of becoming the supplier of choice for power supplies to the world’s leading electronics manufacturers.”

Before founding Eos, Archer was a senior scientist at Power-One Inc., where he designed numerous power supplies that are still produced by the Camarillo company.
