Arts Education

Share

I was so delighted to see “Arts Education Is Not Dispensable” (Commentary, June 11). Cleveland High School has been on the forefront of art education for several years. We are a “Getty school,” meaning we have partnered with the Getty Foundation in creating courses that feature interdisciplinary instruction. We pair up classes such as English or social studies with art so that young people can study the world through the eyes of the artist. Students take field trips and receive additional instruction from art specialists.

Cleveland features its own gallery and has had many students go on in the art field. We are still accepting applications from students who want to come to Cleveland and be a part of our Getty program.
