Decline in Values Explains It Best

This is written in response to Michael Medley of Stanton under “Khachigian Quest for Revenge” in your Sunday Metro’s Letters to the Times.

I am a very conservative resident of south Orange County who finds Bill Clinton’s probable behavior and his job performance both falling short of the mark.

Hillary Clinton’s “vast right-wing conspiracy” routine is probably reasonably good damage control if you are unaware of the facts.

If enough reading is done in a sufficient variety of publications, an inescapable pattern forms. Many in Clinton’s inner circle allow off the record that he has had and probably still has a “womanizing” problem. The term “bimbo eruption” has even been coined for this phenomenon. The problem is that Clinton is simply not a credit to the office.

The problem with Kenneth L. Khachigian is that he is a very biased defender of Republicans in general.

Fortunately, neither Khachigian nor Hillary Clinton do my thinking for me. It is quite true that Bill Clinton has taken a lot of credit for legislation which was originated primarily and exclusively by Republican legislators.

Clinton has succeeded in this disinformation and public relations campaign largely because the Republicans have done a poor job of selling their case and their accomplishments and because many of voters are poorly informed.

For a democracy such as ours to function properly, the voters must be educated and informed.

The fact that Bill Clinton’s behavior does not disturb us more and that his poll numbers are so favorable says more about the moral decline in this country and the apathy of the voters than anything else.
