Rainbow Buys Firm

Computer security firm Rainbow Technologies Inc. said Monday that it has bought a Northern California company in a stock-for-cash deal in an effort to bolster its commercial software line.

Last week, Rainbow staff finalized its acquisition of Wyatt River Software Inc. of Santa Clara, a maker of software licensing tools. Neither company released details of the deal.

Rainbow, which specializes in making computer security systems and encryption technology, closed Wyatt River’s offices and brought its staff of 30 to Orange County, officials said.
