* Woodland Hills-based Litton Industries Inc. reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $40.6 million, or 86 cents per diluted share, compared with $36.2 million, or 76 cents, a year ago.

* Chatsworth-based ChatCom Inc., a supplier of communication server systems, appointed E. Carey Walters as president and chief executive.
