Body of Storm Victim Found Near Ranger Station
The body of a software engineer missing since last month was discovered in San Dimas Creek on Wednesday, raising the California death toll from the recent series of powerful storms to 10, authorities said.
Hikers found the body of Francis Lee McCall, 59, partially buried in mud near the San Dimas ranger station, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said. McCall had been missing since Feb. 23, when he lost his footing in the usually calm creek that had been transformed into a torrent by the storms. He had left his creek-side cabin to help a neighbor whose car was stuck, officials said.
