Select Software Tools: The Irvine vendor said it lost $4.6 million, or 45 cents a share, for the fourth quarter, which included one-time charges totaling $2.4 million for restructuring and acquired research and development costs. For the 1996 fourth quarter, a net loss of $1.7 million, or 17 cents a share, was reported, which included a one-time charge of $2.1 million related to an acquisition. Revenue increased 90% to $9.1 million from $4.8 million. For the year, the company recorded a net loss of $7.7 million, or 73 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $1.7 million, or 20 cents a share, for 1996. Revenue was up 79% to $25.6 million from $14.3 million.
