Basketball bad boy Dennis Rodman has sued a Los Angeles collectibles maker, claiming the company manufactured and sold a Dennis Rodman Wedding Dress Doll without his permission.

The suit, filed Wednesday in Orange County Superior Court, seeks unspecified monetary damages from Street Players Holding Corp. Street Players has made Rodman dolls since 1996 under a licensing agreement with Rodman.

The agreement calls for Rodman to approve the use of his image in the production of 100,000 limited-edition dolls; he receives a monthly royalty fee of either 10% of sales or 50% of profit, whichever is greater, according to the suit.

Street Players first violated the agreement in August and has failed to provide an accounting of sales, according to the suit.

“We don’t know the number of unauthorized dolls sold and haven’t been able to do an accounting of their sales, which we believe to be a significant amount,” said Richard Howell, a Costa Mesa attorney for the Chicago Bulls forward.

Street Players Chief Executive David Siegel couldn’t be reached for comment.
