New Complaints Filed Against Guess

Share

The National Labor Relations Board has filed two unfair labor practices complaints accusing Guess Inc., the Los Angeles-based clothing manufacturer, of trying to illegally thwart a union organizing drive. The broader of the complaints accuses Guess representatives of illegally interrogating hundreds of the company’s contractors’ employees about their union activities. In addition, in an expansion of a previous complaint issued in November, the NLRB is now accusing Guess of illegally firing 33 workers for their union ties. The NLRB complaints, which among other things seek reinstatement and back pay for the fired workers, are preliminary allegations that face a review by an administrative law judge. A Guess lawyer said the company denies all the allegations and will contest them.
