It’s time to update that resume, press that good suit and get a haircut, because on Wednesday, area businesses will be looking for a few good men and women to enter the work force.

About 60 businesses are expected to attend the Valley College Job Fair in the campus Monarch Square, 5800 Fulton Ave.

The businesses will be representative of various fields, including banking, financial, medical, retail, law enforcement and service industries, according to Pat Guerrero of the Valley College Job Resource Center.

Other employers expected are representatives from the city of Burbank, the city of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Department, the California Highway Patrol and the several Los Angeles County departments, Guerrero said.

“It’s a great opportunity to meet with employers and make connections that may lead to jobs,” Guerrero said. “It’s not something worth passing up.”

The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., is free to the public, as well as to Valley College students.

No appointments are necessary. Job seekers simply must show up during the fair and sign up to meet with the employers of their choice. All the employers will be seated at tables in the square.

Anyone interested in obtaining employment should bring an up-to-date resume and dress for success.
