Chadwick Students Give 400 Books to L.A. School

Students at Chadwick Middle School on Wednesday presented elementary school children at 116th Street School in Los Angeles with more than 400 books that will be added to the school’s library.

Two former Chadwick school teachers, who began teaching at 116th Street School last fall, were frustrated with not having enough books for students. They asked their former colleagues at Chadwick to help out, which led to the student council conducting a book drive for new and used reading material.

“When we heard about the situation at 116th Street School we really wanted to help,” said Max Schmid, president of the student council. “It was also a lot of fun.”
