Terry Leslie McQueen, head of a Malibu film production company and the daughter of the late movie actor Steve McQueen, is dead at age 38.

She died of respiratory failure Thursday at UCLA Medical Center, according to her mother, McQueen’s first wife, Neile Adams, now Neile Toffel.

“Terry had been troubled by numerous medical problems in recent years,” her mother said. “She had beaten the odds and had made a full recovery from a successful liver transplant operation last November.”

Toffel said she and her husband, Alvin E. Toffel, would now raise Terry’s only child, Molly, who is 10.

Terry McQueen was 19 when her father died of cancer in 1980 at age 50. Her brother, actor Chad McQueen, survives her.

McQueen’s production company, Red Line, had two ongoing film projects, her mother said.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary at 2 p.m. The family suggested that donations in McQueen’s memory be sent to the Boys Republic, 3493 Grand Ave., Chino Hills, CA 91709, or to the Jo Ann Barr Transplant Foundation at UCLA.
