Oxnard Council and SOAR
At its March 10 meeting the Oxnard City Council could have made history by heeding the will of the citizens of Oxnard. The council should have embraced the Save Open Space and Agricultural Resources initiative as Ventura County Supervisors John K. Flynn and Frank Schillo have. Instead they choose to do nothing.
Actually, they did the same old thing: They talked but said nothing.
SOAR will now go to the people and gather signatures. The City Council would do well to clear the council chambers of furniture as we will bring them wheelbarrows full of petitions. Some of them may also wish to clear their desks because I think they will not be reelected.
