The posh Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, shut since early February after mudslides blocked California 1, plans to reopen Friday by helicoptering guests from Monterey Airport. Packages, starting at $430 per room, double occupancy, with tax, include all meals, the copter service and guided coastal hikes. Reservations: (800) 527-2200. . . . Ano Nuevo State Reserve in San Mateo County is again accepting reservations for tours of its elephant seal breeding grounds, at (800) 444-4445. Reservations were suspended in December when the state canceled its contract with a previous phone service. . . .
