San Diego Padre third baseman Ken Caminiti returned to San Diego Saturday to have his strained right quadriceps examined.

Caminiti, batting .229 and in an 0-for-15 slide, aggravated his leg Thursday against the Marlins. He played Friday night, but left in the ninth inning of an 11-inning loss to Florida.

Caminiti, 35, was scheduled to be examined by team physician Dr. Jan Fronek. Caminiti has endured back stiffness this season along with the quadriceps problem.

A Chicago city alderman has introduced an ordinance that would impose an amusement tax on fans and safety regulations on owners of buildings that sell rooftop seats on buildings surrounding Wrigley Field.

Alderman Bernard Hansen, whose ward includes the ballpark, is taking aim at buildings that line streets outside right and left fields. The rooftop decks, which vary in size and quality, are owned by neighborhood bar owners who rent them for private parties at $75 per person.

The ordinance would require building owners who sell tickets to obtain a special “club license” for $500 a year, would ban the sale of hard liquor and strictly regulate food preparation. Hansen also wants to ban barbecues on the rooftops.
