The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded South Coast Repertory $42,300 for the third play in its American Classics Series, John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men,” to be staged in February. The subsidy is one of 867 grants totaling about $59 million awarded by the NEA in the second round of its 1998 cycle.
