Atmosphere at the Viper Room on Tuesdays, 8852 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, (310) 358-1880. With guest artists ranging from the Propellerheads to Goldie and Grand Royal’s deejay Carbo and Umoja Sound System’s Cockni-O in the he-ouse weekly, this Viper club can’t go wrong. 21 and over, $15 cover.

Cafe Bleu at the Probe on Thursdays, 836 N. Highland Ave., Hollywood, (213) 951-7079. A club run by two smart chicas and enhanced by multiple deejays (most of whom are women), this Brit Pop diversion offers the best in contemporary pop delights and ‘60s soul (with live bands, too). 18 and over, $6 to $8 cover.

Cherry at the Love Lounge on Fridays, 657 N. Robertson Blvd., West Hollywood, (310) 891-2775. With deejays Joseph Brooks and Mike Messex knowing which pop culture buttons to press on any given Friday, Cherry is bursting with loads o’ flavor. 21 and over, $10 cover.

Chocolate Bar at Zen Sushi on Saturdays, 2609 Hyperion Ave., (213) 665-2929 or (213) 960-5197. This underground hip-hop joint elevates all its guests to a higher level of consciousness, with the assistance of deejay Higher and guest deejays from America’s three corners of soul (Brooklyn, Chi-town and El Am, where Chocolate Bar’s promoters hail from). 21 and over, cover varies.

Sen~or Amor at Encounter on Fridays, 201 World Way, Los Angeles International Airport, (310) 215-5151. Continually going where no cocktail lounge deejay has gone before, Sen~or Amor likes his music shaken and stirred. 21 and over at bar, no cover.

Life at the Pink, 2810 Main St., Santa Monica, (310) 392-1077. Those who made it up to Snow Valley on April 4 to witness Freddy Be’s “Stoned . . . Chilled . . . Groove” rave got to sample from L.A.’s fine deejay palette. Jason Bentley’s set was marred by a sound system that kept exploding. At the Pink, it’s all in sync. Bentley is joined by cohorts Bruno Guez and Jun. 21 and over, $10 cover.

Louis XIV’s Monday Night Social, 606 N. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles, (213) 934-5102. Hosted by Mick Cole and Freddy Be, this weekly night of dining among the electronica loving set is the figurative turntable that’s heard around the world (it’s the L.A. spot for traveling deejays). 21 and over, occasional cover.

Tart at Goldfingers on Fridays, 6423 Yucca St., Hollywood, (213) 962-2913. With go-go dancing by the Golden Pussycats and deejay Tommy keeping things frisky with tunes of the ‘70s and ‘80s, Goldfingers has become a weekly dance staple. 21 and over, $5 cover.
