Re “Explore Charter College,”
Giving Cal State Northridge the freedom to explore and activate new programs and methods of teaching seems like a no-lose situation. Administrators and professors should seek an alternative method to present classroom materials, especially since our information society is becoming so enormous to grasp.
If students seem less interested in the traditional undergraduate approach, maybe it is because the second they walk out of the classroom they are faced with problem-solving and communications issues that are not taught in their college education.
A fresh approach would be a relief, and teachers should have the option to be prepared, and most importantly, to prepare students. It is admirable to see a college trying to initiate changes to help students and teachers.
