Judge Bars Coach From Campuses

A judge Wednesday ordered John Muir High School track coach Clyde Turner, who has been charged with molesting two male athletes, to stay away from that school, a middle school and track meets.

Turner, 43, appeared in Pasadena Municipal Court, but his preliminary hearing on three felony counts and a misdemeanor was postponed to June 8. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In the brief court appearance, Judge Mary Thornton House told Turner to stay away from Muir, Charles Eliot Middle School in Altadena, where he was a truant officer, and any venues where he would be likely to run into the alleged victims.

At the same time, Turner’s attorney, Anthony Willoughby, filed a motion for the prosecutor to produce all records in the case, accusing the Pasadena police of threatening his client with more charges and harassing Turner’s friends.

“They need to put up or shut up,” Willoughby said.
