Fewer Problems With Younger 737s

Few problems have been found so far in Boeing 737s slightly younger than the ones grounded for checks of the wires passing through their fuel tanks, inspection data showed. The Federal Aviation Administration said it had received only two reports of instances in which more than half the insulation was scraped away, out of 47 planes with 40,000 to 50,000 flight hours. But for 129 737s with more than 50,000 hours, nine cases of bare wires and 23 cases with more than half the insulation missing were found.
