Opinions Sought on City Manager Search
Residents with opinions on what kind of city manager should lead Thousand Oaks into the next century are invited to share their thoughts at the City Council meeting Tuesday.
Robert Murray, a vice president with the David M. Griffith & Assoc. search firm, will present a report to the council detailing the results of his interviews with elected leaders, top city staff members and employees’ unions about Thousand Oaks’ search for a new city manager.
In February, City Manager Grant Brimhall retired from the post he had held since 1980. MaryJane Lazz, assistant city manager, has been tapped as interim manager.
Murray also wants to hear from residents on what qualifications and personality traits they desire in the first new city manager to lead the city in two decades.
“This input, coupled with direction received from the City Council, will help guide the consultant in selecting and screening the most qualified candidates for the job,” Mayor Mike Markey said. “The council encourages the public to participate in this important process.”
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Civic Arts Plaza.
