Four teenagers were arrested Wednesday after they stood outside a house and fired a gun that had been stolen a day earlier from a home less than a mile away, police said.

The boys were taken into custody at 8:05 a.m. after police received a report of gunfire in the 1400 block of Roan Street, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.

The boys, two of them 16, the others 17 and 15, were cited on suspicion of burglary and weapons charges and released to the custody of their parents, police said. Probation officials were expected to handle the case, police said.

Inside the house where the shooting took place, police found two shotguns, a rifle and a handgun, as well as a VCR, camera and ammunition that had been stolen Tuesday morning from a house in the 1600 block of Pride Street, police said.

The house where the stolen items were located is also the home of one of the boys. Police released no further details on the burglary.
