Suns Operation is Full of DiCarlos
The Suns, who open their season Saturday night, are a DiCarlo family affair. Don DiCarlo is president and part owner of the independent Western League team, his wife, Karen, is director of community relations, and his father, Anthony, heads stadium operations at Oxnard College. Don and Karen’s son, Mark, is the team’s 6-foot-5 first baseman, and their daughter, Lisa, is director of ticket sales.
Suns’ games will by broadcast on two radio stations. Port Hueneme-based KTRO 1520 AM will carry all regular-season games and the playoffs with Suns’ public relations director Ian Howard doing play-by-play. Also, Oxnard-based KXSP 1590 will carry home games in Spanish, with Beto Cross doing play-by-play.
