A former senior police dispatcher has plead guilty to grand theft by embezzlement from the Police Department and has been sentenced to three years’ probation, authorities said.
Sean O’Connor, 23, was also ordered by Municipal Court Commissioner Kristi Lousteau to perform 200 hours of community service, pay a $500 fine and make restitution to the department. He was also ordered to pay court costs.
O’Connor was charged with pocketing $275 on three occasions in March from drivers who retrieved their impounded vehicles.
He entered the plea May 13, six days after resigning his job and quitting the city’s reserve force.
