Two people were in critical condition Thursday after a man allegedly attacked them with a meat cleaver, Garden Grove police said.
Lien Trong Ho, 42, was charged with two counts of attempted murder after attacking a man and woman, both about 60 years old, inside his house in the 14300 block of Lyndon Street, Garden Grove Police Lt. John Woods said.
The woman dialed 911 from the residence about 12:41 p.m., Woods said, and told a dispatcher that two people had been hacked. Before officers arrived, Ho dialed 911 and said he had just killed two people, Woods said. Police found the victims in the home with multiple wounds to the head, officials said. They were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Found inside the home, Ho was arrested without incident and booked into Orange County Jail. Ho’s clothing was bloodied, Woods said. A meat cleaver, believed to be the weapon, was found in the house, authorities said.
Apparently, there had been an ongoing dispute between Ho and the victims, Woods said. The victims’ identities were not released. Their relationship to Ho was not clear, police said.
