C. Robert Campbell has been named president and chief executive of Bax Global Inc., an Irvine-based cargo transport and logistics management concern.
The transportation industry veteran will join the company June 8 as part of a restructuring intended to decentralize management of the operating units of Bax’s parent, Pittston Co. Previously, Bax’s chief executive was also the CEO of Pittston.
Campbell, 53, spent 21 years at the truck leasing company Ryder System Inc., most recently as executive vice president. He was also an executive vice president of Advantica Restaurant Group Inc.
Bax, with $1.7 billion in annual revenue, offers freight forwarding services through more than 500 offices in 119 countries.
