Furon Co.: The Laguna Niguel maker of polymer components for the industrial and health care markets reported net income of $5.4 million, or 29 cents a share, for the first fiscal quarter ended May 2, 8% higher than the $5 million, or 27 cents a share, posted a year ago. Sales rose slightly to $119.8 million from $119.6 million.
