Yaroslavsky Challengers to Attend Valley Forum
Three candidates challenging county Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky in the 3rd District will attend an event sponsored by San Fernando Valley secessionists today to meet voters and discuss their ideas about improving transportation, education and leadership.
The candidates are C.J. McDonald, a Woodland Hills businessman and rancher; Shane McLoud of Santa Monica, a third-grade teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District and former deputy for Supervisor Don Knabe and former Supervisor Deane Dana; and Los Angeles resident Casey Peters, a former candidate for the Los Angeles Charter Reform Commission and organizer for a group called Campaign for Municipal Democracy.
They will appear at the kickoff of a petition drive by Valley Vote, the group dedicated to furthering the Valley secession effort.
The event will be held at 11 a.m. at Balboa Lake in the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area.
