U.S. Moves to Feed Russians This Winter

The United States will donate wheat to Russia and will provide long-term, low-interest loans to the Russian government to buy food for its people this winter, the Agriculture Department said Friday.

The package includes a donation of 1.5 million metric tons of U.S. wheat and loans to provide for the sale of 500,000 metric tons of corn, 300,000 metric tons of soybean meal, 200,000 metric tons of soybean, 200,000 metric tons of wheat, 100,000 tons of rice.
