Viking Invests $5 Million in New Plant

Viking Components, a Rancho Santa Margarita maker of data communications products, said Wednesday that it has invested $5 million in a new manufacturing, assembly and testing equipment plant at its headquarters. The privately held company, whose products include computer memory, flash and smart media, said the facility will triple its capacity within two months.
Viking, which was named to Inc. magazine’s fastest-growing company list in 1994, expects sales to reach about $275 million this year.
