* In regard to “DNA Study Shows Jefferson Fathered His Slave’s Child” (Nov. 1), aren’t we all glad that the first five presidents were either atheists or deists. That is why we have the separation of church and state.
What two or more consenting adults do in private is no one else’s business.
I believe that Sally Hemings had good taste and too bad I wasn’t around to perform the marriage ceremony for them. In my eyes she was the third first lady of our great country, committed to a great Democratic president.
