With half-brother Sean Lennon’s debut album out earlier this year, Julian Lennon will release his “Photograph Smile” in the U.S. on Feb. 23. It’s the first since 1991 for Julian, who had his biggest hit with his 1984 debut album “Valotte.” . . .

The annual New Year’s Eve L.A. rave will be at the Sports Arena this time, titled “Together as One” and presented in conjunction with Moonshine Music, whose Carl Cox, DJ Dan, John Kelly, Omar Santana and Jim Masters will be on hand. . . .

Fresh off neo-folk-rocker Elliott Smith’s acclaimed “X/O,” producers Tom Rothrock and Rob Schnapf of L.A.’s Bong Load Records are starting work on veteran folk-rocker Richard Thompson’s next album, due in spring. . . .

Fine, the act fronted by Ashley Hamilton (son of George and ex-husband of Shannen Doherty) has a debut album coming via Elektra Records in February. Scott Weiland and ex-Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones make guest appearances.*
