A final public hearing on proposed zoning changes for Lincoln Avenue has been extended to Nov. 23. Two business owners raised concerns at a meeting last week, prompting the City Council to delay a decision. The plan would rezone the 3.5-mile Lincoln Avenue into small sections of residential, commercial and light industrial areas. Lincoln Avenue has been deteriorating over the past 30 years, and city planners say they hope the rezoning, which would create a better mix of uses, will help the street prosper.
