InSight Health Names General Counsel

* Marilyn MacNiven-Young has been named executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of InSight Health Services Corp. in Newport Beach. She had been InSight’s outside general counsel since 1996. MacNiven-Young previously served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Comprehensive Care Corp.; general counsel for American Health Services Corp.; and vice president, general counsel and secretary of Abbey Healthcare Group. Most recently, she was a principal of Big Ears Consulting Inc., a company specializing in merger transition and integration. In addition, Michael Madler was appointed senior vice president. Before joining InSight, Madler was chief operating officer of Prime Medical Services Inc. and vice president of operations at American Health Services Corp.

* Barry P. O’Neil has joined Palley-Needelman Asset Management Inc. in Newport Beach as senior vice president and national sales manager. He was formerly a managing partner at Brandes Investment Partners LP.

* Frederick R. Aikins has been named a managing director for Hill and Knowlton Inc. He has been with the public relations and public affairs firm since 1987 and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Mazda North American Operations account, based in Irvine.

* Stephanie Zoch has been appointed account group head at TH&M; Advertising in Tustin. Zoch, who joined the agency more than five years ago, had been an account executive.

* Gary Eikermann has been named to the board of directors of the Coastal Municipal Water District, which covers 60 square miles and 250,000 people in Orange County. He is a principal at Boyle Engineering Corp. in Newport Beach.

* Peter F. Bastone has been elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the California Assn. of Catholic Hospitals. He is president and chief executive of Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo.

* Dan Crowley has been named chief financial officer at BAX Global in Irvine. He was formerly vice president of planning at Frito-Lay, a division of PepsiCo Inc. Prior to that, Crowley spent eight years with Grand Metropolitan PLC, where he was senior vice president and chief financial officer for the Pearle Vision subsidiary. In addition, Joe McClelland has joined the company as senior vice president of sales, marketing and supply chain management. He had been with KPMG and before that held sales, marketing and supply chain management positions with Fritz Cos. International.

* Frank Coffman has joined Holmes & Narver, an Orange-based design/build and program management firm, as senior vice president for government programs. He most recently served as senior vice president of government and commercial programs for International Technology Corp. Coffman has also worked at the Atomic Energy Commission, Energy Research Development Agency and the Department of Energy.

* Dallas E. Haun, regional senior vice president of City National Bank’s Long Beach commercial banking center, has assumed the additional responsibility of leading the North and South Orange County commercial banking centers. Haun, former president and chief operating officer of Harbor Bank, joined City National when it acquired Harbor Bancorp in January.

* Gordon Albrecht has joined the law offices of Steven J. Melmet in Santa Ana as director of corporate sales. He was previously with T.D. Service Financial Corp. of Santa Ana for more than 13 years.

* Timothy E. Rush has been appointed president of Cair Systems in Newport Beach, an affiliate of Garg Data International. Rush, who has been with the company 12 years, was formerly sales director.

* John Keyser has joined the Computer Systems division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. in Irvine as vice president of service and support. He joined Toshiba from Genicom/ESSC, where he was vice president and general manager of customer support services.

* Mickey Shaw has been named director of development for the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center in Costa Mesa. Shaw has more than 18 years of experience in nonprofit management and fund-raising, and was previously associated with Very Special Arts California, the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Laguna Art Museum and UCI Health Sciences.

* Paul Walrad has been named senior account management supervisor-West Coast operations for Visual Services Inc. in Cypress, a subsidiary of VSI Holdings Inc. He is responsible for developing new automotive business opportunities for the supplier of marketing services. Walrad was previously a consultant for Media Networks Inc., a division of Time Warner.

* Tom Larimore has been appointed manager of community relations for South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach. He retired in June after a 29-year career with San Diego Gas & Electric. Larimore served as community affairs representative for the company’s Orange County region for 14 years.

* J.C. Sparkman has joined the board of directors of Universal Electronics Inc. in Cypress. He is the former chief operating officer of Tele-Communications, Inc., a cable company, and currently is a director on its board. Universal Electronics acquired H+S Management Inc., a remote control company owned by Sparkman.
