Luxury Hotels Part of Seized Drug Assets

Mexican authorities have seized about $200 million in assets from drug traffickers in the Juarez cocaine cartel, including three luxury hotels, two of them in the Caribbean resort of Cancun, according to a report in Reforma newspaper. Mexican police, with the help of U.S. agents, took cars, the hotels and other property, the newspaper said. The two hotels seized in Cancun were the Costa Real and Laguna Real. The Porto Real in nearby Playa del Carmen was also taken over, the newspaper said.
