Louisiana Tech Rolls, 87-50

Reserve Betty Lennox scored 27 points to lead second-ranked Louisiana Tech to an 87-50 rout of Nicholls State at Thibodaux, La.

Lennox led the charge by scoring 11 consecutive points, including three consecutive three-point baskets, to give the Lady Techsters (2-0) an early 28-17 lead. Nicholls State (0-4) fought back and was able to trim its deficit to 37-28 at halftime.

But Louisiana Tech scored 12 of the first 14 points of the second half and made 58% of its shots in the final 20 minutes to pull away.

Joining Lennox in double figures were Monica Maxwell with 15 points and Tamicha Jackson with 10.

Jo-Adrienne Smith led Nicholls State with 17 points and Crystal Guillory scored 10.

No. 4 Purdue 92, Valparaiso 51--In their first game since they lost the No. 1 ranking, the Boilermakers (3-1) got 20 points from Ukari Figgs and 17 from Stephanie White-McCarty in routing the Crusaders (1-2) at West Lafayette, Ind.

Purdue was ranked No. 1 for the first time last week but lost Sunday at Stanford, 73-72. The game against Valparaiso was never close after the opening minutes.

Sarrah Stricklett scored 12 points for Valparaiso.

No. 16 Colorado State 84, Portland State 70--Katie Cronin scored 19 points to lead the Rams (6-0) over the Vikings (0-3) at Portland, Ore.

Becky Hammon and Shannon Randles added 15 each for the Rams, whose 19-4 run midway through the second half broke open a close game.

Monique Zampera led Portland State with 14 points.
