A quartet of musicians who play on reproduced pre-Columbian instruments are scheduled to perform a free public concert tonight at El Centrito De La Colonia.

The group of Mexico City musicians called Tribu, or “tribe,” has been together for 25 years and has released 14 recordings since 1979.

Musicologists who reproduce and use pre-Columbian instruments, Tribu members are hailed for their authentic sound. The band is a fixture at the Mexican National Museum of Anthropology.
