Whether exploring Bob Dylan, spirituals or tunes from the silent films of Buster Keaton, guitarist Bill Frisell projects a unique, plugged-in take on American music. His original compositions reflect influences from Charles Ives to Jimi Hendrix. Here, the trio master makes a rare solo concert appearance.

Sharon Stone will host the Academy Tribute to Jeanne Moreau, which will include clips from many of Moreau’s films and shared anecdotes from many of the French screen legend’s co-stars, directors and friends. Over the last 50 years, Moreau has starred in dozens of films, including Louis Malle’s “The Lovers,” Michelangelo Antonioni’s “La Notte” and John Frankenheimer’s “The Train.” Her most recent film appearance is in the Cinderella tale “Ever After.” The ever luminous Moreau will attend the tribute and will share recollections of her career.

Power-pop avatars Cheap Trick have kept their buoyant, melodic rock afloat for more than two decades, and on the occasion of the re-release this week of their first three albums, the Chicago cutups will play one of the collections in its entirety on each of its three nights at the House of Blues: “Cheap Trick” tonight, “In Color” on Friday and “Heaven Tonight” on Saturday.
