Zeik Stands Alone

Share

Over the last few weeks, a number of unfortunate statements have been made about the screenwriting credits on my film “Ronin” (“Mamet Versus Writers Guild, the Action Thriller Sequel,” by Eric Harrison, Aug. 5). I wish to set the record straight on this matter because these statements do not accurately reflect the facts.

J.D. Zeik is unequivocally entitled to the first position screenwriting credit as well as the sole story credit he was awarded by the WGA. “Ronin” was created by J.D. His screenplay attracted me and the actors and got the project green-lit.

Furthermore, it has been publicly stated that the screenwriting arbitration process over “Ronin” was a contentious one, when in fact that is not the case. The arbitration process for “Ronin” occurred without any acrimony whatsoever, and to the best of my knowledge the final credit determination was unanimous.

J.D. Zeik deserves recognition of his significant contribution to this film, and I am proud to have worked with him.
