Motorist Shot at on Alicia; Man Arrested
An Aliso Viejo man was arrested Monday after an incident at a stoplight, authorities said.
Orange County sheriff’s deputies arrested Nelson Delgado, 23, without incident after another motorist reported that Delgado had fired a gun at his car, striking it twice.
Deputies said the incident started shortly after noon when Delgado pulled his pickup too closely behind the other motorist’s sedan at a traffic light on Alicia Parkway.
Looks were exchanged at the light, deputies said, then the two drivers continued west on Alicia. Somewhere between Moulton Parkway and the San Joaquin Hills toll road, Delgado fired three to five shots, two of them hitting the other car, officials said.
Delgado was charged with assault with intent to commit murder, officials said. No other details were released.
