Beatty, Hollywood Crew Roll Into Bolsa Chica for Drive-by Shooting
Face freshly made up, film actor Warren Beatty stepped out of a wardrobe trailer at Bolsa Chica State Beach on Wednesday morning, shoved a rakish cap on his head and gave passersby the thrill of their lives.
“Warren Beatty? Here? Incredible!” marveled cyclist Margie Oldfield of Fountain Valley.
Along with Diane Keaton, Beatty had come to Huntington Beach to film a segment of “Town & Country,” a romantic comedy from New Line Cinema in Los Angeles that also stars Andie MacDowell, Goldie Hawn and Garry Shandling--due in theaters next spring.
“We’re here trying to replicate a little bit of East Hampton Road that we didn’t get last week when we were shooting in East Hampton,” said producer Simon Fields.
Stepping into a black Range Rover fastened on a truck, Beatty took the wheel and “drove” south on Pacific Coast Highway, all the while being towed by another truck and escorted by California Highway Patrol officers.
“Beatty’s character is on his way to see Goldie Hawn’s character, to tell her their love affair is over,” Fields said.
“This is great,” CHP Officer Leon Gonzales said.
