How to Gauge a District
Democrats have a registration edge in all seven targeted districts, but registration alone doesn’t tell the story. That is because Democrats tend to be less consistent than Republicans about going to the polls. And Democrats, when they do vote, are more likely than Republicans to choose candidates from another party. Often, a more reliable way to evaluate a district is to look at its voting patterns in past elections.
