** 1/2 Kurupt, “Kuruption,” A&M.; A two-album package broken into West Coast and East Coast volumes, the solo debut from the Dogg Pound member fails to equal his storied recording history. Unlike the compelling verses he performed on projects with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and others, the majority of this collection sounds as if the Philadelphia native recorded it during impromptu sessions. His lyrics and delivery frequently seem rushed and forced. Kurupt’s production keeps him afloat. A mix of lean, aggressive beats and laid-back, keyboard-heavy sound beds, the instrumentation arrives much more polished than his verse.
