Ghost of a Chance to Catch Hauntings

They’re called “Apparition Expeditions,” and while you’re guaranteed to visit some colorful and historic places, you probably won’t see a ghost. But then again . . . you might.
“No one has seen a three-dimensional figure on the tours,” concedes Shannon O’Hara, 36, a former travel agent who has taken about 150 people to allegedly haunted sites in Britain and other places since founding her Chandler, Ariz.-based tour company last fall. But she claims “people have seen shadows or vague figures half-materializing.”
Next year O’Hara’s company plans tours to Hawaii, Britain, New England, “Colonial America” (Virginia and Maryland) and New Orleans, plus a Mississippi riverboat cruise. Itineraries include seances, stays in “haunted” hotels, visits to Jack the Ripper crime scenes in London and seminars with parapsychologists. Prices range from about $250 to $2,699 per person, double occupancy, for one night to seven nights. Reservations: (602) 963-4530.
