Thomas de Avila has joined the sales team at YARC Systems in Newbury Park as business development manager. He will be responsible for strategic promotion of YARC’s Laser Copier RIPs in the corporate marketplace.
De Avila has more than 20 years of sales experience in the printing industry.
* Jason R. Harris has been named project director to oversee industrial development projects in Ventura County for Burke Real Estate Group. His responsibilities include project development, construction management and marketing.
His initial priority will be work on the Grande Vista Business Park, a 22-building industrial facility in Thousand Oaks, and Burke Camarillo Corporate Center, an 18-building industrial complex in Camarillo.
* Neil Barnsdale, Peter Sheydayi, Jeremy Epley and Matt Vernon have been hired at the Camarillo office of Robert Bein, William Frost & Associates.
The company, which has nine offices in the western United States, is a planning, engineering and surveying firm.
* James P. Cole, a clinical psychologist, has completed a volunteer mediation training program offered through Pepperdine University School of Law. The training was co-sponsored by the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution and Ventura County Family Court Services.
Cole has begun work as a volunteer mediator with Family Court Services at the Ventura County Hall of Justice.
* Judith Kaminsky has been hired as the underwriting sales associate at KCLU-FM, a National Public Radio affiliate located at Cal Lutheran University. She comes to KCLU from Columbus, Ga., where she was vice president of development for the Department of Underwriting at Peach State Public Radio.
KCLU serves Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
* New York Life Insurance Co. agent Michael Dixon has been named a council vice president for the company, a position awarded annually to the agent with the “highest achievement in sales and service.”
Dixon of Agoura joined the company in 1975 and in his first year qualified for the industry’s prestigious Million Dollar Round Table.
He is a past president of the California Assn. of Life Underwriters and a past director of the Agoura Las Virgenes Chamber of Commerce.
* Pinkerton’s, the worldwide security firm, has named Gregg S. Lamb to the post of controller.
Lamb will be based at Pinkerton’s World Support Center in Encino, where he will manage the global aspects of the company’s accounting, financial systems and controls, and financial planning and reporting functions.
Lamb, who joined the company in 1995, was previously Pinkerton’s director of corporate development.
Earlier, Lamb was director of worldwide financial planning and reporting at New Jersey-based Concurrent Computer Corp.
