Callaway Golf Co. said its founder and chairman, Ely Callaway, will reassume his roles as president and chief executive of the troubled Carlsbad-based golf-club maker as it tries to regain its former glory. Callaway, 79, held the positions from 1982, when the company was founded, through 1996. He replaces Donald Dye, who will remain with the firm as a consultant.
