Group Sponsoring Run to Raise Funds for Arts Training Complex

To raise money to build a youth training center for the entertainment industry, a nonprofit group will hold a “fun run” Sunday at the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs campus.

The event’s sponsors, Friends of Recreation Los Angeles, hope to use proceeds from the run to hire an architect for the proposed Entertainment Arts Training Complex, which would be located on city-owned land near Griffith Park.

Sunday’s event will include 5- and 10-kilometer runs, a 5K walk and a 1K children’s run. Registration and check-in begin at 7 a.m. at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 11301 Wilshire Blvd.
