An angry house guest stabbed a man and his elderly mother late Monday evening, leaving them in critical condition, police said.

John Rogers, 32, and his mother, Mary, 72, were stabbed about 11:40 p.m. on Sandbar Lane, said Police Lt. Jon Arnold.

Police are seeking Gonzalo Alfonso Cabrero Feliciano, 27, who holds a Spanish passport, on suspicion of attempted murder, Arnold said.

Cabrero Feliciano stayed at the victims’ home at least over the weekend, Arnold said.

“We don’t know what the relationship was, whether he was visiting or an acquaintance or what,” Arnold said.

Cabrero Feliciano returned Monday night and argued with John Rogers, then a struggle began near the front door, Arnold said.

“The suspect stabbed him and then came inside and stabbed his 72-year-old mother,” Arnold said.

Rogers staggered next door, and his neighbor called authorities. Cabrero Feliciano was gone when officers arrived.

Police have provided Cabrero Feliciano’s description to area airports and border checkpoints.

The suspect is described as 5 foot 7, 125 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He was described as wearing a hooded sweatshirt and black pants, and was carrying a dark bag.
