Parking on 3 Streets Near School Banned
Responding to upset homeowners, the City Council has voted to ban weekday parking on three streets near Moorpark College.
The council voted unanimously Wednesday to change the restrictions on street parking near the college from one-hour parking to no parking. The change was made at the request of the Campus Hills Home Owners Assn., where most of the 33 affected homes had supported the change.
The restrictions will be enforced weekdays between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on University Drive and on Milne and Trollope courts.
But not all homeowners in the community were pleased with the change.
“It will push traffic up on my street,” said Doug Capitano, who lives on nearby Borges Drive.
“This is not solving the problem, but merely shifting it.”
