Albert Johnson; Film Critic, UC Berkeley Professor

Albert Johnson, 73, a film critic and professor at UC Berkeley who also directed the San Francisco International Film Festival. Johnson taught film at UCLA and San Francisco State College in the 1960s. He directed the San Francisco Film Festival for several years, attracting artists such as Paul Newman, Gene Kelly and Judy Garland. He also served as a consultant and critic at the Cannes, Berlin and Venice film festivals. In Chicago on Oct. 17 of a heart attack.
